new year? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i never saw the point in celebrating the new year. what's the point of counting down as you wait for 2017 trickle in? when people say they miss a certain year, i'm just like "?????" wouldn't the events you're referring to eventually become another moment/day/week of the year? if so, that makes it as typical as missing the last friday when you had drinks and caught up with your old friends, or celebrated your engagement with your fiance.

i mean, ok fine, some people watch the fireworks just cos they're obsessed with powder shooting into the sky and exploding into neonlights. whatever rocks their boat lolol. the visual aspects aside, sitting down and waiting for the last moments of 2016 to blend into the first few seconds of 2017 is just pure lameness.

like, for what?????? you don't sit around waiting for friday night to become saturday morning, do you? unless something important is happening on that day. otherwise, the transition is just another mechanism carried out by clockwork.

anything that doesn't involve presents or cash doesn't interest me. there, i said it. i'm just not sentimental, and i take a very pragmatic viewpoint of this whole count down thing.

p.s. i also think waiting for 23:59:59 to become 00:00:00 is just lame, unless you're gonna buy lottery or something, and the gods hinted that those are your lucky numbers.

hahaha but ok sure, happy new year, fools. see yall next time!
