11 May

Three years ago, in 2012, I made the first move to get to know Danial. There's no moral to this story. All it says at the end is that I was hell of a shameless ^^

Ok so this is how it goes:
We were both working part time in different buildings of a telco corporation located at Katong. I hated my job and my supervisor (who looked like an alligator on an old scooter). I think I'd been working there for about 3 weeks to a month, when suddenly a guy in a really tight T-shirt caught my eye. I would just silently look out for him while I was at the bus stop waiting for the bus. I'd even make sure that I left the building as early as I could, just so I don't miss the moment when I'd see him walking towards the same bus stop as me – that's how infatuated I was.

This went on for quite a bit (the whole looking from afar thing). I had a crush on a total stranger! Couldn't even stalk him on facebook cos we didn't have any mutual friends or colleagues, didn't even know how old was he, or what kind of weirdo he might turn out to be. Then there was one day when he stepped out of 7-11 holding on to a CLEO magazine, and I was just like "jialat, he must be gay. I mean, who wears such tight t shirts?! Plus he obviously works out, so vain". Danial was quite fit at that point of time (know why? cos no girlfriend mah, can gym 3x a week LOL) so his clothes filled out quite nicely. A bit too nicely, if you know what I mean... But I digress.

I believe it might have been close to three weeks of silently waiting, when suddenly he just didn't turn up at the bus stop. I think the only way to describe the feeling is pure disappointment. It's like I looked forward to seeing him at the end of the day – waiting 8 hours ok (if i'd lucky I might have seen him during lunchtime) – and then he just wasn't there wtf. I was panicking in my heart, seriously. I was all like "oh shit oh fuck what if he never turns up, then I'd have missed my chance forever?!?!?! I will never know who this boy is?!?!"

I was damn desperate please! When he was right there (before the disappearing act, which turned out to be cos he had to go to NUS to drop off some documents lol) I was too shy to do anything. Plus a bit act cool, always had a IDGAF look on my face. Then suddenly he's not around and I was freaking out -_- And, get this. It was raining on the day he didn't come LOL!!! IMAGINE THE FEELS. I might as well have been bawling my eyes out at the fact I might never know this stranger.

But who knew, the next day the sun shone and this boy was standing in front of me again.

Before I continue, this is the part when I give you guys a little background story:
There was this guy at my office who was also a part timer. He would wait around for me and offer to walk me to the bus stop when work ended. At first I thought this was out of friendliness, cos I'd just started working there, and maybe he wanted to make me feel welcome. But then 1 month later he was still doing it, and worse still, he started waiting expectantly for me, hovering around my desk area at 5.58 pm every day. And then he even went to the extent of signing out for me LOL. He would stand by me and say "Rachel! I've signed out for you. You ready to leave? Can walk together."

OMG. EVERY DAMN DAY. AND WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY COMMON TOPICS. And if you knew me, you'd know if I have nothing to say, I won't talk. I hate small talk, and I don't care for you or conversations that I have no interest in.

He insisted on waiting with me for the bus, or taking the same bus as me (which means letting a few other busses go), and like being "protective". Don't know for what though, he was so skinny the wind would blow him away without a thought. Plus my expression so much more fiercer than his could ever be lol.

Anyway, on that very fateful day, I decided I had to make my move. So when I saw Danial standing there, I walked up to him, tapped him on the shoulder and said "'Scuse me, can you do me a favour? That guy keeps following me, so next time you see me at the bus stop, can you pretend you're my friend?"

And then, as they say, the rest is history.

Sorry R*, I had to use you as my stepping stone hehe, or I wouldn't have met the guy at the bus stop. If not for you, I wouldn't know this weird shit who can't hold a tune to save his life, fried omelettes for me with NO SEASONING (wtf???? that shit was tasteless and i had to eat it), can kill a lizard with his bare hands, and will go to the end of the world for me.

P.S. The CLEO magazine was cos his friend was featured in it. *I heaved a sigh of relief*

P.P.S. I was so desperate and out of ideas that I'd even thought of writing on a piece of paper "Hey I just met you and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me maybe", and passing it to him. That would've been crazy and lame, plus the song a bit stupid haha so luckily I didn't do it.

P.P.P.S. He says if I'd let him catch my eye, he would have smile at me and make the first move. But my expression was too hostile hahaha. So now he tells everyone I 'upped' him first. Well duh, you didn't dare to make the first move what.

Since it's our anniversary, it's only fitting that I compile the moments we've shared together so far. (Editing them was a real bitch, transferring them to the mac and uploading them again is another bitch altogether.)

But here goes!

On our first overseas trip to Bintan.

Before we'd left, I was supposed to go out with a friend on my birthday itself. Turns out, he was downstairs waiting to surprise me with a bouquet of daisies! Apparently he had a system/timetable to follow in order for the plan to go smoothly LOL

This was taken during Halloween. We were prepping for his annual Zouk appearance. I still have no idea what they went as, other than a big mess lolol

Riders Cafe used to be our usual weekend haunt back then. Now I find the food to be super mediocre???

Celebrated his 24th in a suite at MBS.
Here we have Tan Ah Zhek sporting the newest trend of Terry Cloth Robe, with the season's IT accessory: The Hotel Newspaper.

Told him to drop by the florist for a bouquet of baby's breath so I could decorate my house, and he didn't even wrap it with any brown paper.... just left it in the ugly wrapper. Still pose until very satki LOL

That year, I had to go to Glasgow for a few weeks as part of the university's programme. On the last week, Danial flew over and we shared the flat with my classmates. We slept in the living room lol on a super pitiful blown up SINGLE bed.

Before he came over, this was what we would do at 8pm BST/3am GMT.

On one of the evenings after he'd arrived, we quarrelled because he didn't close the windows in the morning when we'd left the house. Our apartment was on the 3rd floor, which meant anyone could climb up and break in, whcih was why I was so pissed off. He kept insisting he locked it, but he obviously didn't la, or else how come I didn't have to unlock it and it just popped open so easily. (note: apparently window locks for european windows were different. I thought him once but he thought it was easy so he didn't try, and therefore didnt know exactly how to do it, which explains the honest mistake)

Anyway, he was angry that I didn't trust that he DID lock the window, which pissed me off even more cos he freaking obviously DID NOT. So he left the house in a huff LOL and said he was going out for a walk. This was around 11pm, still quite bright outside, but obviously Glasgow isn't very safe la, lots of drunks + pubs at our neighborhood.

Then around 1am, he wasn't in bed next to me so I panicked and called him on his phone.

The funniest thing is, I heard the damn phone vibration, and then his groggy voice:

"Hello??"
"Where the fuck are you????"
"What?! I'm on the sofa la" (literally could hear the -.-!!! tone in his voice)

LOL THE SOFA WAS JUST 50 CENTIMETRES AWAY FROM THE BED HAHAHAHAHAHA

The view in the mornings from our apartment in Glasgow.

When we went to school in the mornings, he'd spend the time exploring the city. Can't do so without an ootd LOLOL. This was right outside our apartment! Damn, Glasgow is really a nice place to be in, other than the racism and drunkards. And the fact that shops close at 6PM wtf.

This was the state of the living room when we were packing to leave for London, hahahaha. Lucky these kinda sights don't happen often cos I can't stand mess. We had to reorganize the luggage to make space for more shopping *defensive*

Just touched down in London Town ~~~ (american boy reference, anyone?)

image5 Sometimes when I PMS and Danial is irritating, I tend to walk a lot slower/faster LOL so this is what happens when I am far behind. Happened to get a picture of him turning 'round to check that I'm still behind hehe.
