Is there ever a great way to die?
I'm just thinking, every time someone passes away, our first reaction is sympathy and heartache. And then the next thing we say is "oh no, what a tragedy." But the fact is, whether you were killed in a car accident and mauled undertow for a few hundred metres, or lost your limbs due to gangrene and infection, or if you fell down the overhead bridge and smashed your head, or if you were bitten by a shark, or if the tsunami took you away, or if you choked on a fishball and you had no oxygen, etc etc; is there ever a way one could die without causing heartbreak?
Even if one were to go in his sleep, it would still cause distress to loved ones.
There's no way around this situation.
You're still on my mind, dear friend. My memory of you may have been that of a 16 year old's crush, but I will never forget how your laughter and happiness was just so contagious. I will carry whatever feelings I had for you in my heart until the day I die.
It's not about how I should have confessed my feelings or whatever — the crush wasn't that big a deal, just maybe infatuation. You were a great person through and through, and I'm beyond heartbroken that something so terrible would happen to you.
Eternal rest grant unto Andrew, O Lord, and let perpetual light shin upon him. May he rest in peace.
